Dustfinger is a fire eater. A fire eater is when someone can controle fire and make it do tricks for him. On his sholder is his marten Gwin. Dustfinger isn't from this world, he is from the Inkworld.

Farid is some one who came out of a book just like Dustfinger. Farid has become Dustfingers assistant and has learned all of his tricks.

Roxane is Dustfingers wife. She has three children and two of them are Dustfingers.

Meggie is the main character and one of the few people who can make books come to life. She is also Mo's daughter.

Mo and Resa are Meggie's parents. Mo can bring things in and out of books just like Meggie.

Elinor is Resa's aunt. She just loves the Inkworld.

Fenoglio is the author of what the book is about.
